Alia Bhatt heads to New York as she is all set to grace the red carpet of MET Gala 2024

Alia Bhatt is set to grace the prestigious Met Gala for the second time, marking her presence among the select few Indian celebrities to attend the esteemed event. Departing from Mumbai’s Kalina airport, she embarked on her journey to New York, where the Met Gala 2024 will unfold. This will be her second appearance, following her debut at the Met Gala in 2023, where she stunned in a Prabal Gurung couture, aligning seamlessly with the event’s theme, ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.’

Reflecting on her memorable debut last year, Bhatt took to Instagram to share her inspiration, paying homage to the iconic Chanel brides and the visionary Karl Lagerfeld. She drew inspiration from supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look, infusing authenticity and pride in her Indian roots into her ensemble. Collaborating with Prabal Gurung, her attire featured intricate embroidery adorned with 100,000 pearls, symbolising a labour of love and craftsmanship.

In her Instagram post, Alia captioned it, “I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture. My look tonight was inspired from this and in particular by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look”

Details about Bhatt’s ensemble remain shrouded in secrecy, adding to the intrigue surrounding the event. The guest list is likely to feature approximately 450 attendees, including designers accompanied by their muses.

Celebrity attendees like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might grace the red carpet as a couple. However, one familiar face missing from this year’s lineup is Priyanka Chopra. Chopra’s prior commitments remain the reason behind her absence.
